1/ “Quitting was not an option. You wipe your tears and carry on.” -Marvel, age 16

After weeks of walking, Marvel came across the graves of other migrants who never made it.

Marvel was afraid. But then remembered his brother, murdered by gangs back home, & kept moving.
“We can’t bear losing another son. You have to go.”

This is the heart wrenching blessing Marvel's parents gave him, before he began his journey north.

Marvel & his family knew the journey is dangerous.

But they also know home is no longer safe.
They knew the journey is deadly.

Children pass migrant graves & keep going

Children eat rotten garbage & drink from potholes & keep going.

Children, terrified of being held hostage in overcrowded, filthy detention death traps at the US border, keep going.
In the last year the govt arrested a record 70,000 children at the border. These are children who journeyed north and understand the grave risk they are taking.

But they also understand that they HAVE to go.

They are afraid but they are resilient.
