Whatever else this means it massively increases the chances that 2020 will be another year of Brexit dominance of politics, as there won't be a trade deal by the end of the year. So more prepare for no-deal stuff, no-deal better than a bad deal etc...
Let us recall back to Dec 2017 that we were negotiating a Withdrawal Agreement so that we could then move onto the future relationship. Those who thought we were paying for a future deal, bad luck.
Johnson will most likely be happy to dump the no extension beyond 2020 promise under some pretext, given previous form in dumping the DUP. Either way though the chances of the Conservative Party stopping talking about the EU any time soon look slim.
A credible opposition would probably be able to make great play on how the Conservatives just keep going on about the EU, and won't ever actually stop. But then again a credible opposition probably wouldn't think the biggest story of the day was happening in Bolivia.
Conservative Brexit position

We want a trade deal with the EU, but not if it takes more than 10 months to negotiate and implement

Labour

We'll negotiate a new deal and put it to a referendum in 6 months

THE EU TOOK OVER 5 YEARS TO NEGOTIATE A DEAL WITH CANADA
So on top of a massive spending splurge promised by both parties, combined in the case of the Conservatives with tax cuts, we have a promise to complete international agreements in record time without knowing what we want.

I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
I thank the Labour supporters pointing out they're only promising to renegotiate the Political Declaration. Actually, what we know is they want to negotiate a Customs Union, as the permanent future relationship. Not sure how the EU will respond to be fair.
Anyway for business, a message that you really need to get to work preparing your asks for a future EU Free Trade Agreement, and simultaneously preparing once again for a no-deal (except Northern Ireland).
Also bear in Dec 2020 EU will be fine with no deal as no border in Ireland is guaranteed. Any UK hope to go for a US deal instead will be up against the clock given their Presidential election, and then expiry of trade authority for the President.
A Conservative majority "Getting Brexit done" looks like further months and probably years of uncertainty.
(just to be clear, nothing in this thread advocates voting for or against any particular party. there's no "honesty in international negotiations" party running)
