Putin has had his sight set on Ukraine and used Ukraine as a testing ground for all attacks the Kremlin has unleashed on West. Everything from social media warfare to cyber attacks. Trump who works for Putin has many times over past few yrs said & done things to undermine Ukraine
During our 2016 elections when our agencies were determining Russia's ongoing attack on America conspiracy theory began emerging. The pro Kremlin pushed theory was that Ukraine attacked us and not Russia. This was done to muddy the waters of the true culprit of the attack Russia
During 2016 and into 2017 Manafort (who has worked for Putin for over a decade around the world), Giuliani, and journalists like Ken Vogel pushed this theory. Giuliani began making multiple trips to Ukraine and worked w his decades long pro Putin mafia associates to help Kremlin
Manafort in early 2017 was under investigation in Ukraine for his role in Yanukovych's regime (who was tried for treason) and then investigations suddenly stopped. This led to the receiving of Javelin missiles and Poroshenkos visit to the WH.
Late 2018 Giuliani continued his work for Trump and began his extortion campaign on Ukraine demanding investigation on Biden/2016 election attacks. Giuliani worked w Kislin (mobster that both Giuliani/trump have dealt w since late 70s) and his mafia associates Parnas and Fruman
I followed all of it on the Ukrainian side the beginning of this year and was outraged at the extortion campaign that was being conducted against an ally who is very vulnerable. It is damaging to our national security and was done to benefit Russia.
The extortion campaign is more than just Biden. It is meant to protect/ rehabilitate the Kremlins image w an eventual removal of sanctions. Since election Trump has spent every day protecting Putin. Every foreign and domestic action has benefited Putin.
Trump would want nothing more than to fabricate evidence that Russia wasnt behind elections attacks/installation of their agent. Republicans used to support Ukraine & have completely betrayed us. They have pushed these Kremlin talking points and left our country more vulnerable
I am happy that impeachment is focusing on Trumps extortion/blackmail of Ukraine who depend on our support but hope that one day all traitorous actions taken on behalf of Kremlin by Trump and his regime will be exposed. We will not be safe until we know the extent of infiltration

Final point. Media needs to stop discussing Trumps ridiculous nonsense that he was trying to root out corruption. Trump, Giuliani (who took over for Manafort on most likely behalf of Firtash) have been dealing w Russian mafia, oligarchs, russian intel agents since the 80s.
