Right now, I think there are three categories of Albertans. 1) Those who did not vote UCP, would never vote UCP, and tried to warn everyone what would happen under a UCP government. They are rolling their eyes as they read this article.... 1/9
2) There are those who voted UCP because they believed in Kenney and his glowing promises to rout the evils of socialism and bring back big booming oil prices and 6 figure jobs right out of grade 11. But they are disappointed. 2/9
Kenney and his crew are behaving like decades of PC politicians before them. Rick Bell would claim to be one of the "I didn't know! How can this be?" crowd. They are grumbling, but they know there is nothing they can do to curb or tame the UCP now... 3/9

I recall when I was in early elementary school & the federal government introduced multiculturalism & all children had to take French at school. Oh, the outcry! The moaning and gnashing of teeth! The outrage that the government was forcing another language "down our throats!" 2/8

I think we all agree it looks bad when an agent of the government hires the law firm his son works at for a $1M job. And that it happens to also be the law firm that other members of the same party also worked at... 1/25
However, as far as "conflict of interest" as regulated by the Canadian Bar Association goes, it isn't breaking any rules. The CBA defines conflict of interest thus: 2/25
In other words, clients can hire their relatives to be their lawyers, no problem. Lawyers can profit from their work, no problem.... 3/25
