The Guardian arranged a blind date between a lesbian and a trans-identified male without making the lesbian aware her date was trans.

Remember, it was a BLIND date, to be later written up in this huge publication. That’s a lot of pressure to not be tagged a transphobe.

It pisses me off that a lesbian was, without her consent, put in a position where she was supposed to publicly affirm this person’s “gender.”

And when she decides against a second date, it’s called a cop out, and her date calls her out publicly.

See, we don’t HAVE to date TW, but, if we don’t, our reputations are attacked. We’re guilted and criticized the way any incel dude does when disappointed.

This is BULLSHIT.

And I have no idea what Anna really felt about all this. None of us do. See, the way this issue is seen in LGBT communities means she was NEVER free to respond authentically to the situation.

I think her bow out was very gracious, and she was still publicly criticized for it.

When could she have ended it better?

When she got to the restaurant and saw her date was male? No way. That would have been social disaster for her.

A quick, polite exit after dinner? Hmm, think we would have heard about that from Jen, too.

From where I sit, Anna did the most face-saving thing possible - very nice date, positive write-up, “we want different things” no-fault breakaway.

And she was still judged, still blamed. Jen dimed her out on the reporter’s feed, ffs. This was intended to be a public shaming.

So explain to me again how lesbians retain their sexual agency in this gender revolution.

The time Anna would have been allowed to leave the situation without penalty was never.

Shame on you, @guardian . Lesbians are same-sex attracted. That isn’t up for negotiation.
