...showing people they can indeed participate in govt & drive policy. It’s this promotion of democratic culture & community involvement that pro-dem DC control should aim to achieve. It should be envisioned as part of our revolution, not just better business-as-usual.
The whole purpose of pro-CCP governance is to exclude people from participation. According to this philosophy, it doesn't matter that #HK govt is just a bunch of endlessly recycled mediocrities: they're really just place-fillers, there to block anyone else from participating.
We have 4yrs to show we're different & we had better be very different: our success will depend on the degree to which we draw #HK citizens into governance & create this new democratic culture, building a platform also for success in Legco elections.
If we don't take advantage of these 4yrs, guided by a clear & unified vision of participatory grassroots democracy, you can bet the pro-CCPers will be busy improving their election machinery. We blew it once b4 in 2004, after defeating Article 23. We better not blow it again.
