BJP's failure in winning 'intellectual' debate became most apparent in #CAA. Reason lies with party. I worked in this space 4 too long to kno how long term agendas are set. Why intellectualism is equated to #Left leaning among a section in #WestBangal & #India. 1/n

I have been consistent in saying that #CAA is a major correction to the historic neglect to human tragedies from sustained flight of #Hindu & other minority from #EastPakistan/#Bangladesh. It's unfinished job of #Partition. 2/n

#Secularism will be threatened only when #India wil institutionally discriminate between two sets of citizens, as it happened in #Pakistan & #Bangladesh not by virtue of giving citizenship 2 d discriminated/persecuted in this 2 countries born out of discriminatory principles. 3/n

The narrative I am referring to was common in #Bengal till 80's. But absent in today's #Bengali media. Why? No point in blaming party or parties 4 brainwash. There was a longterm approach behind. Right people were accommodated in right places, who created a chain.#CAA 4/n

The machinery created over 20-30 yrs now bringing wonders in #WestBengal. The huge unrest/huge loss of lives during #Congress #Left #Tmc rule in last 50 yrs forgotten. Intellectuals/media into one sided political campaigns. No space for alternate views. 5/n

#BJP is a complete failure in bringing due freshness in intellectual narrative in #WestBengal. In fact, during d anti #CAA violence only #adhirranjanchowdhury @adhirrcinc #Congress reflected sanity of thought. His appeal in murshidabad stop destroying #rail was outstanding. 6n/n
