Here is a look at the past and a glimpse into the future. Austin has experienced many years of explosive growth that brought with it millions of tax dollars. The Austin city government thought and still thinks that the annual cash windfall will never end.
They spent money like crazy without much thought to the future. A few Boondoggles: The Dell contract to link all city departments. The Waller Creek project that had to be stopped and redesigned due to height issues. The purchase of a wood fired power plant. Downtown toilets.
That is just a few but they illustrate how incompetent @MayorAdler 's @austintexasgov is, and there is a direct correlation at how amateur incompetent reporters such as @daustinsanders w/ the @AustinChronicle believe that they actually give Austinites THE STRAIGHT DOPE.
Note that there has never been a thought 2 use some of d millions of dollars rolling in 2 reduce taxes. No, taxes have rocketed up every year, chasing people out of d city where they were born. At some point, there'll be an economic slowdown, there always is. Then, real disaster.
Politicians/MSM like YOU will seek 2 punish d populace. First will b reductions in education & libraries. Next, cuts 2 police & firefighters. This is what always happens in a city controlled by liberals. Now is the time to ferret out d totally corrupt & arrogant city politicians.
