1- It wasn't an 'ape' quote. It was a passage from #Shakespeare about arrogance/overconfidence.

2- It was the 'ape' quote that @MShapland quoted to #AlastairStewart's employers as evidence of racism, in the hopes of getting him sacked.
@MShapland Do you feel picked on Kate?

From what I've seen of his TL, AS regularly QT's his responses instead of replying under the line.

It's a common practice.
@MShapland and yet here you are, a "free speech fundamentalist" suggesting that some speech, entirely reasonable speech, is problematic.
@MShapland You've QT'd this... strange given that its demonstrative of bullying and inciting a pile-on!

You also don't appear to have read the tweets that are being portrayed as evidence of AS's anti-semitism.

I'll remind you again, "Free Speech fundamentalist"
@MShapland With friends like these...

#AlastairStewart
@MShapland Permission to QT is a thing? Did you ask AS's permisison before QTing the #Shakespeare passage to @ITVNews?

@Twitter, could you confirm the ToS regarding use of the QT function. It seems we might all be doing it wrong.
@MShapland @itvnews @Twitter It's OK folks... the deliberately manufactured outrage and maliciously intended weaponisation of a passage from #Shakespeare, only came after an impolite twitter exchange.

All perfectly reasonable. #MouthBreather
