Today I requested my absentee ballot for the #Ohio #DemocraticPrimary. It will be the first time I've ever voted for a #Democrat. The first vote that I ever cast was for #JohnMcCain in the primary for the 2008 #GOP primary at the age of 17, though I preferred #MittRomney...
I guess that's prophetic in a way, considering the #GOP and #Trump's treatment of both have been contributing factors towards my escape from the #Republican party.

Let me stress something right now. I am NOT a #Democrat. I am a #conservative through and through...
Before #Trump, I saw #conservatism and the #GOP as largely synonymous. I loved #RonaldReagan. I read National Review. I believed in small government, secure borders and a strong military. I was #Prolife to my very core. Guess what? I'm still in favor of all of that...
In fact, I may be even more strongly #Prolife than ever before. But my eyes have been opened to see that the #Republican party is not synonymous with #conservatism. Decent, hard working Americans who believe in rugged individualism, honesty and kindness have been marginalized...
By a president and a party who see them as pawns they can use and abuse to obtain and hold power. The people who drive pickup trucks and go to work every day and pay their bills on time are viewed as a means to an end - political power. The #GOP doesn't care about people...
The corrupt and lawless #Republicans are willing to allow monumental and unprecedented abuses of power by a president who hasn't a single iota of decency or kindness.

The party that touts its moral superiority and "Christian values" enables a man devoid of basic humanity...
While using issues like #abortion to convince well intentioned #Americans to vote for them. The hypocrisy is stunning. The baseness, vulgarity and corruption of #Trump has been not tolerated, but applauded by those I once considered principled and just...
I, for one, would rather have a #president in office whom I can politically disagree with with principle than a president that I have to tolerate rampant abuses and, for lack of a better word, nastiness from because he is "on my side"...
I don't need to follow or support a politician because he's "fighting for me/us".

"Do not trust in princes, in mortal man, in whom there is no salvation." Psalm 146:3 #NASB

#Trump fights for himself. The #GOP fights for Trump...
I will be voting for a return of decency and kindness to the White House. I am not giving up my #conservatism. To paraphrase Lt. Colonel Hal Moore: "Some may say I'm leaving my home - I'm going to what home was always supposed to be..."
I'm voting for @JoeBiden in the #Ohio #DemocraticPrimary and I urge all Ohioans to do the same. We can fight better for the cause of liberty and justice and, above all else, life, by unshackling ourselves from the president and the party who care about none of the above.
