It was the death of a single US contractor in a rocket attack launched by an Iranian militia that brought the US to the brink of war. Now there are 2 dead Americans and as many as 12 injured. Those who launched the rockets in Iraq have not yet been ID’d but it doesn’t look good.
2. The area where the rocket attack occurred - Taji - has almost no ISIS presence. It makes it likely the aggressor is one of the Iran-linked militias. Sources on the ground are telling me there have already been retaliatory strikes against PMU targets at the Iraq/Syria border
3. The Pentagon is now confirming the 12 Americans injured in addition to two dead in the rocket attack. At least 18 katyusha 107-mm rockets landed in the military base and a rocket-rigged truck was found a few miles outside:
