The country suffered a record number of daily new #Covid19 cases this morning as the figure topped 9k for the first time (9,020)
Important to look at scale though. 23m population and the peak only 535.
New cases coming down now: 327 today, but an all time high 21 Covid deaths
#Philippines has had a sharp spike in #Covid19 cases the past two days.
it's already on the UK red list, and no immediate sign of a change in status after over 16,000 infections in the last two days.
The SE Asian archipelago hasn't seen 8k a day for 4 weeks.
Remember, the Kremlin has only been admitting about 20% of its #Coronavirus deaths in the daily updates.
But again more than 400 fatalities declared today.
Over the last 2 weeks, avg daily deaths have climbed over 10% (348 to 383)
Very bad data from #Denmark today, but not totally unexpected.
@Joenelmbak had warned me that authorities were preparing for more rising cases.
1,038 new infections and 4 further deaths. That's a 38% increase in cases.
A slight rise in new cases in the #Netherlands today
3,381 #Covid19 infections diagnosed in the last 24 hours, which is 219 higher than last Saturday. That's only 7% but worth keeping an eye on.

#UK announces 3,398 new positive tests for #Covid19
Much lower than yesterday but the important number is the 26% rise on last Saturday's figure.
Deaths up one again from 6 to 7.
Casess over the week are up 23%, deaths by a huge 44%
The important, good news for #UK, is that although new admissions to hospital are rising (up 23% in a week), the total number of #Covid19 patients in hospital is falling, down 4.3% over the same time.
That seems to indicate vaccines working. People are being discharged quickly

3/9 Data are the latest available for each country but e.g. while Peru, Spain, UK are right up to date, others are >6 months old.
Some nations have negative excess deaths, e.g. Taiwan, New Zealand, Thailand, Australia, Japan, Iceland, Norway.

A further 27% rise in #Covid19 cases confirmed overnight with 10,572 new infections for Saturday vs 8,311 the week before.
#Brazil's been the focus of much attention of late as deaths soar.
The number of people who were reported to have died of #Covid19 yesterday actually dipped, but only because it's the weekend. In fact 1,940 deaths is 30% higher than last Saturday's 1,498
If Friday turned out to be fearful, we can only hope it's not a shocking Saturday.
