#Japanese Realism Diplomacy means
- support for #Ukraine,
- free and open Indo-Pacific,
- enhancing relationship with like-minded countries,
- #UnitedNations Reform including the Security Council. 1/1

#Japanese Realism Diplomacy is about maintaining and strengthening the rules-based free & open international order, about the peaceful resolution of disputes, the non-use of force, & respect for sovereignty, freedom of navigation, free trade, and respect for human rights. 1/2

#Japan considers that #Russia has engaged in an outrageous act that has shaken the foundations of the international order, causing #UN to face a time of trial. #UN reform is not an easy task, but Japan will lead discussions to reform of the UN Security Council. 1/3

A Free and Open Indo-Pacific is based on inclusiveness, collaboration with #ASEAN is essential to ensure peace and prosperity in the region. 1/4

In addition to #ASEAN and Pacific Island Countries, the #Quad, is playing an important role in promoting a Free and Open Indo-Pacific. Quad will extend more than US$50 billion of further infrastructure assistance and investment in the Indo-Pacific over the next five years. 1/5

All it is about #digitalisation. #Japan' vision of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific, put emphasis on providing patrol vessels and enhancing maritime law enforcement capabilities, as well as #cybersecurity, #digital and green initiatives, and #economic security. 1/6

#Japan has particularly been strengthening its maritime security efforts while utilizing advanced technologies such as #satellites, #ArtificialIntelligence, and unmanned aerial vehicles, while continuing to share its knowledge and experience with other countries. 1/7

#Japanese Realism Diplomacy is focused on global issues: non-proliferation - world without #nuclear weapons; calling for all nuclear-weapon States to disclose information regarding their nuclear forces. 1/8

Together with countries concerned, #Japan encourages #US & #China to engage in a bilateral dialogue on nuclear disarmament and arms control; and bring back discussions on the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) and the Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty (FMCT). 1/9

#Japanese Realism Diplomacy for a new Era is focused on enhancing #Japan's #defense capability; and defense cooperation with like-minded countries. Japan-#US/#NATO partnership is a cornerstone of peace & stability not only the Indo-Pacific, but also the entire world. 1/10

#Japan is making effort to conclude defense equipment and technology transfer agreements with #ASEAN countries and materialize specific cooperation projects according to their needs. END
