DACA wasn't America's promise, it was Barack Obama's promise through an unconstitutional executive order which is exactly why it was sent back to Congress. EO's can be undone from one president to the next. Senator Warren should know that as a sitting US Senator.
It is also ridiculous for a circuit court to rule a president can't undo an executive order by a previous president. This is something that has been done routinely as Obama was able to undo Bush EO's, Bush did on Clinton's and all the way through the history of the country.
Congress needs to come up with a legislative solution for DACA, whether the decision is popular or not is irrelevant. Congress makes laws and presidents sign them into laws. Presidents do not legislate through executive orders, that is called tyranny.
Trump to his credit has sent back DACA because the legislative authority belongs in the Congress. So for those calling Trump a tyrant they may want to look more closely at his actions and the definition of a tyrant. It wasn't Trump declaring he had a phone and a pen.
Also, DACA in the form of the executive order signed by President Obama was a TEMPORARY measure. Temporary measures are not years or decades. This should have been taken up by Congress while Obama was still in office. Obama established DACA in June 2012.
Obama said numerous times before signing the DACA executive order he did not have the authority to suspend deportations. politifact.com/virginia/state…

Now here is the same politifact parsing words saying it is untrue when Trump mentions it.
politifact.com/truth-o-meter/…
Trump's statement was pointed at Obama had stated that he did not have the authority to suspend deportations and that it must go through Congress. Politifact is attempting to mislead by emphasizing the "when he signed it" part of the statement.
DACA is a hot potato Congress did not want to touch while Obama was in office. Republicans nor Democrats wanted to 'fix' it because politicians in both parties were afraid of how it would effect them in elections. Now, they are stuck with the responsibility of doing their jobs.
Members of Congress & US Senate are elected to represent their respective districts & states, not the interests of their party or the president. Not every decision is a popular one, nor is every decision celebrated. You are elected to make tough decisions, not popular ones.
There is no solution that will be unanimously popular. People will like one part and hate another part. If you don't want the difficult responsibilities of being in powerful government positions the answer is simple, step down and let others do the tough work in your place.
Here President Obama stated he cannot suspend deportations. He also explains TPS is used in extraordinary circumstances, not for something like DACA. He also mentions Congress' responsibility for immigration law.
