Last Monday was the first time British Jewry has organised a demonstration since the Second World War: so profoundly had Labour's antisemitism problem been affecting the community.
What's happened since explains why we demonstrated. Thread. 1/
The bulk of new-left, pro-Corbyn media spat back at the protesters, who were mostly Jewish Labour supporters, by portraying them as "unhinged right-wing Zionists" , "Labour plotters". Basically, liars. Jews. Using their own prejudice falsely in a malicious political ploy. 2/
The tiny fraction of Jews who deny there's a problem and organised a counter-demo to an anti-racist demo (yes - really) are exhalted. 3/
2000 Jeremy Corbyn supporters endorse a statement saying the demonstration was the work of a "very special interest group." 4/
The Word magazine - which states "the politics of this project are broadly in line with those of Jeremy Corbyn" publish a front cover which asks readers to choose between starving African children or the Jews. 5/
Head of Disputes and NEC member, Christine Shawcroft, is revealed to have protected a Holocaust denier from suspension, allowing him to stand as a candidate at the local elections. 6/
Her defence is that she knew it was a suspension for antisemitism so didn't bother looking at it and reflexively protected the offender.

Which was reassuring.

Credit to @skwawkbox again for the most acrobatic contortion: 7/
The Shawcroft redemption wasn't up to much.

"The whole row is being stirred up to attack Jeremy, as we all know." 8/
Every MP that attended the demo is subjected to a systematic organised campaign of online abuse. David Lammy faces calls for deselection.
Every antisemite's new favourite publication demands each MP at the demo declare their history of standing up for other minorities. 9/
As one of the many examples out there: this was the reaction to a Jewish female MP who had spoken out against antisemitism on FB group "Jeremy Corbyn True Socialism," 10/
Candidate at upcoming local elections revealed to be a Holocaust denier. 11/

Thangam Debbonaire MP summoned to her CLP demanding she explains herself for attending demo. Issued a long list of demands including an explanation of why the mural, depicting Rothschild, braking the backs of the world's poor, is not antisemitic. Motion is circulated widely. 12/
Worth noting that some of the previous from Bristol West includes this 200ft banner unfurled a few days before the general election: 13/
It's revealed that 30 members of Peterborough Labour complained about the suspension of the Holocaust denier that Christine Shawcroft had protected. 14/
Welcome noises from some of the pro-JC commentariat on antisemitism but managed so that absolutely zero solidarity was shown to Jewish demonstrators. 15/
Another local Labour candidate is revealed to be the founder and editor of a publication which was so antisemitic it featured Holocaust denial and links to videos by David Duke, ex-KKK. 16/
Poll of 1200 Labour members reveal that 30% believe that antisemitism is not a real issue in the party. If stretched out over the membership it would mean that 3 out of 10 members believe a conspiracy theory.... starring Jews.
(This never ends well)
17/
Former minister Chris Mullin claims that Jewish communal leaders are "ganging up" on Jeremy Corbyn to silence "criticism of Israel."

Jonathan Freedland summed it up well: 18/
The minutes from Birkenhead CLP show that diversity training, offered by the Jewish Labour Movement, has been refused because of their "possible links to ISIS and the Israeli government." 19/
Times finally go for the horrifically toxic FB forums but overeach by implicating staff in leader's office (who hadn't been active in those groups) giving everyone a chance to take a break from their all out wars on antisemitism and scream "look at the Tories" instead of../
...decrying the antisemitic abuse of Jewish elected representatives of the Labour party by people who identify on the left and as supporters of Jeremy Corbyn.
Chris Williamson MP endorses a man who said that "Tesco has Jewish blood" and takes his pre-occupation with Jew-baiting to an almost admirable level.

And this is why Jewish people protested. The political climate on parts of the left is excruciatingly hostile to them. And the have been completely vindicated by the antisemites and their enablers who have come into the open for everyone to see.
Perhaps that's a good thing.
Perhaps it's why Momentum have released a very strong statement which is much welcome... but by 'eck they've left it late.
