Two examples of how Team Obama has switched #IranDeal talking points to obfuscate yet again and save the deal. 1) Moniz says that the US knew all along what Netanyahu and #Israel exposed about their nuclear program.

2) Moniz says that not only do #Israel’s intel revelations add very little - just some new names of people and places where some nuclear work is being conducted - but it reinforces the need to keep the deal. We lose out by nixing the deal.

Several reasons why this line of logic is pure garbage: 1) The deal specifically DOES NOT deal with the weaponization aspect of #Iran’s nuclear program. If it did, then they would have demanded a full accounting (as they promised) of all previous weaponization progress.

2) if we already knew what #Israel revealed we would have demanded access to their military sites for inspections where work on miniaturization & detonators took place, such as Parchin. On both counts we didn’t because we accepted #Iran’s premise that nuke program was peaceful.

3) the fact that new intel from #Israel provides new names of places where such nuclear research is being conducted and names of people carrying it out is A BIG DEAL if one’s goal is to PREVENT #Iran from having nuclear weapons in the future, which this deal doesn’t do.

4) the fact is the #IranDeal wasn’t about nuclear prevention but US strategic realignment in the region. We bribed #Iran to become a moderate force, which obviously didn’t work.

5) that’s why we gave up all the goodies to #Iran upfront, regardless of their compliance. It was to lock the US into the strategic realignment policy. No sane plan to address a nuclear program would provide 90% of the awards upfront so that we’d be exposed by withdrawing.

6) the argument that we should fix the deal now rather than nix it is based on doing so without leverage, which means it won’t work. Remaining in the deal means we can’t sanction #Iran’s oil/energy sector as we had before the agreement. Iran makes $billions a month on those sales

7) the pallets of 💰 and the 100+ $billion we gave upfront was an appetizer. The main relief is the sanctions we lifted that allows them to make money and budget for their Syrian genocide.

8) best approach is to get rid of the #IranDeal, apply crippling sanctions on the central bank, secondary sanctions that force Europe to choose #Iran’s or the US market, and force Iran to negotiate a better deal.

9) that is why if the straw man argument Team Obama makes - it’s this deal or war - is THEIR FAULT if it’s true. Because all we can offer is removing sanctions or we’ll have to bomb them. This is the result of the bad deal they made and the leverage they gave up.

10) so at least they could stop lying to the American people about all this. They are asking you not to pay attention to the man behind the curtain in The Wizard of Oz.
