#DigitalLiteracy - Why? Effective work today requires a lot of associated learning. @linuxfoundation @github #VersionControl #Visualization -- continuous learning is critical. Optimal tools & processes are probably not the ones you are using now (Matlab vs. Scikit-Learn)

Need an evolving understanding for what tools are available today to get your work done. If you want your business people to work with your #datascience team, they need to understand what data is and what it can do. Also helps to avoid chasing buzzwords and bling.

Who needs literacy? Everyone. Key component of workplace strategy at @SPGlobal - bridge across work in organization. Multiple channels - e-learning modules, #datascience community, exchange ideas. Intro's in datascience == what do you need to know to work with the team?

Corporate Literacy Strategy:

- Broad training
- Everyone is an expert!

What really happens?
- The people who learn are the ones who use the technology and tools
- People around the core tools and tech need to understand what it means for the business and them

Future?
- Expand #opensource tech (#Python) in current roles.
- Show them how they can use to transform their work and business
- Grow these skills across the enterprise
