Are you interested in getting started in #bioinformatics but not sure where to begin? Here are some tips to help you get started on your journey. A THREAD🧵🧵:
Start by learning a high-level #programming language, such as #Python or #R, and familiarizing yourself with data structures and #algorithms commonly used in #bioinformatics. The #BioPython and #Bioconductor libraries are great resources for this.
Next, learn about #genomic data formats and standards, such as #FASTA, #FASTQ, and #GFF. This will allow you to effectively manipulate and analyze large-scale #genomic #datasets. The #NCBI SRA and #EBI ENA databases are great places to find real-world data to work with.

You run analytics on data to gain insights. These insights are meaningless until you reveal the story they wish to tell. These insights must translate into actions or business results.
People get moved by stories, not facts. I'm sure you recall certain stories from your youth. Stories inspire action. Will listening to a story about Mahatma Gandhi motivate you to take action?

Do you get my point?

Here's a cheat sheet on how to get to your goals

This is from the Silva Method of Mind Control. Believe The Secret is similar

Tried and tested!

1. Go to the meditative state and visualize your goal (Financial abundance, great health, good relationship etc) whatever it is (1/6)
2. DO NOT think of the path to the goal as the route may be different from the one you think.

For example, my 2 extra marks for the IIM gold medal pushed me over the cutoff for my Bombay Stock Exchange membership - something that wasn't in my frame of reference at all (2/6)
3. Visualize and say affirmations only in the positive - not as an absence of the negative

The brain thinks in pictures

If you say I should be rid of this debt or headache, you are visualizing & energising the debt/ pain

Visualize a clear head or financial abundance (3/6)

#Thread:

#Visualization shows ownership of Cars, Bicyle, Two wheelers and also the households that dont own any of these

Why is this critical to know?

Prepared by @PratapVardhan @Stats_of_India
h/t @indiainpixels
Before going into the thread, let us clarify about the data. The data is an end product of a survey which surveyed around ~6,40,000 households across India

Data represented in this viz are aggregated at state level so rural-urban or other geo nuances might be hidden

2/n
Also they indicate ownership of vehicles and it would not truly reflect the transport mode share which in particularly urban areas, everyday commute in personal vehicles could be lesser as some people would take public transportation

A thought-provoking question for everyone in the crypto community.

Why is $XRP & $XLM listed as stable coins by @WorldBank?

My idea is settlement fees and transfer times are stable (4 seconds + less than 1c fee) and for funds moving there is minimal fluctuation in 4 seconds
Compare 4 seconds to the broken correspondent banking system fees & exchange rates, which also take 5-7 days to settle. (That is not stable)

Example:
1. Send 1 million $
2. Bank has ledger with XRP / XLM
3. Sends tokens to other bank - 4 seconds
4. Receiving bank Converts 2 Cash
This ecosystem infographic of $XLM was created by the utility artist / deep researcher @XX_1133_1221_11

New preprint @PsyArXiv from @LinChujun & me! "Fooled by beautiful #data: #Visualization aesthetics bias trust in science, news, and social media." Across 4 studies, we show that people (mis)place more trust in more beautiful graphs. Paper: psyarxiv.com/dnr9s/ Explainer 🧵👇
As data have become more plentiful and important to our daily lives, data visualizations have become common across many spheres, including the news media (e.g., @FiveThirtyEight), social media (e.g., @DataIsBeautiful), and scientific research in academia and industry.
People use data visualizations - such as Covid tracking graphs, weather forecast maps, stock price charts - to interpret the world, and make important decisions. Ideally, these graphs can improve those decisions, but misleading graphs can also bias and confuse us.

How seriously is past volatility a fair estimate of future volatility or risk useful in financial models?
@GARP_Risk
Historical Volatility based on empirical data sample observations.
Data Sample Observations can be historic baseline data for a particular asset class/exposure or simulated data derived from iterations using some historical data sets.
Another branch of data which can be used to observe future volatility is exploratory data drawn from within a sample or a population using data #visualization tools.

This technique is becoming popular as data science and machine learning advancements are taking place

If you are using matplotlib in your day to day coding activity and didn't no the crux of it, I want to you take a look at this below thread. I'm sure you will learn and apply it.

So, here is what all we need to know about matplotlib, an excellent visualization library in python
1. In this thread we will go through some basic patterns and practises to help you get started with the library

It will basically help us plot the data into the figures and can contain axes, i.e. an area where points can be specified in x/y/z co-ordinates

First let's import it Importing the library
2. The simple way of creating axes is using pyplot.subplots and we can Axes.plot to draw some data on the axes.

Below is how we can do it. using pyplot.subplotsOutput of the subplots
