2. Glenn and Phillips performed work for Balch & Bingham, Drummond Co. fighting EPA cleanup efforts in north Birmingham and Tarrant.
3. Phillips simultaneously served on the Alabama Environmental Management Commission.
4. Glenn was appointed last year by President Trump to lead the EPA’s Southeast region.
5. Both men were indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury. Ethics Commission staff were brought in by the JeffCo DA’s office to lead the investigation.
6. The indictments are the fourth and fifth to come out of the north Birmingham corruption scandal.
7. Previously, state Rep. Oliver Robinson pleaded guilty to federal corruption charges. Balch lawyer Joel Gilbert and Drummond vp David Roberson were found guilty of bribery and other corruption charges. al.com/news/index.ssf…

JeffCo Circuit Clerk won't release the indictment until defendants have made their first appearance before the judge.
11. I'm told Joe Espy (one of Alabama's elite defense lawyers) is representing at least one of the defendants. Still trying to confirm.

13. Still no word from Joe Espy, although I hear that Espy's firm has been representing both Phillips and Glenn related to the federal corruption case, somebody will now have to make a choice.
