3 quick Brexit takes from 2 days in Sweden....

1/ Business and government are following the UK debate intensively, without always understanding the more obscure parts of Parliamentary procedure
2/ A lot of praise for the way Barnier handled the process across the EU - the way he kept Member States informed and on-board, standing in stark contrast to the way the UK Government failed to build any consensus
3/ Swedes puzzled about UK government / leave supporters emphasis on trade agreements - they don't see the incompatibility of EU membership and free trade and hence don't really understand the prominence of this part of this issue

There's not much new here, but mention of our freedom to set agriculture rules doesn't sit well with commitments on the Irish border unless assuming Northern Ireland does not in fact have that freedom, and Irish Sea checks
Biggest problem for EEA supporters remains the opposition of both the Labour leadership and the referendum campaigners. Although a majority of MPs could probably live with an EEA solution it is hard to see us getting there

14-30. Statements about the future are inherently debatable, so you simply can't say "there will be no roaming charges" is a fact. It is a possibility.

Hopeless. One of the EU's perennial complaints about Brexit negotiations is that they've been expected to play the role of both sides as the UK side has never really known what we wanted. theguardian.com/politics/2019/…
The EU will probably be able to make minor changes to the Withdrawal Agreement and perhaps more significant ones to the Political Declaration, but they expect these to be the final ones to get a deal over the line in Parliament. The PM doesn't know what these are.
There is no way the EU will agree to this, any negotiating partner will agree to this, and the very fact the PM is floating the idea will have Brussels in continuing disbelief at the PM's lack of understanding of negotiations. thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/t…

#brexit is a belief, a religion. There's no evidence to support it. It is just a blinkered faith. They believe what they want to believe. Their leaders are preachers, not politicians, & their reaction to doubting them is that of nothing less than a religious fundamentalist #FBPE
2. As such many will quite literally do this for some kind of reward in the next life or for a "cause" for their fellow followers. And when you read the words of some of their protagonists that is exactly what one sees.
3. And we must ask how it is possible so many have been converted to this religious extremism. In general it will the same as elsewhere, hardship, poverty, hate, a conditioned mind that is made to believe a specific group is the cause of their troubles.

Jaguar Land Rover recently agreed 2 build a new plant in Slovakia with EU grant, owned by Tata, same company who trashed our steel industry & emptied workers pension funds.
