So my work is done, right? I got my moment of glory, helped raise the doubts of Phillips' lies about his service (before Don Shipley went ahead and got his DD214 anyways lol), got some Twitter followers, can go back into hibernation, right?

Wrong. [1/20]
This weekend has awakened a passion for truth in media, and our society at large, that I didn't know I really had. I've made paltry comments about how I serve for my country, but the problem here is that my country is being torn apart by false narratives and blatant lies. [2/20]
What hurts most is the wanton disregard so many people have for their actions. We have people like @Mercyah , a psychotic woman who not only doxxed a kid over this, BUT A KID THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE INCIDENT. [3/20]
Not only that, but she has ZERO remorse over it. Regardless of what you feel about the Covington kids who WERE in DC, is no one else as patently disgusted at this casual disregard for a life she helped to ruin? The complete lack of any sense of shame is what kills me here. [4/20]
How about we move onto frightening cases of double standards, like of @Jack_Morrissey? A man who decided it would be fitting to call for those kids in DC to be FED TO A WOODCHIPPER because of the hats they wore? [5/20]
He explains quickly, of course, that his words were "merely satirical", hearkening back to a scene from the film Fargo of a similar incident. Oh, it's fine, just a movie reference! XD

So why was James Gunn fired from his job over "off-color" jokes he made years ago? [6/20]
Off-color jokes, mind, with NOTHING to do with the death of children? Meanwhile, I cross my fingers that execs at @disney are realizing they have the makings of a scandal greater even than when most of Gunn's colleagues stood by him and made public statements to that end. [7/20]
Realize yet how frightening this is? I mean, I probably have 99% conservative people reading anything I vomit out, so probably no surprise, but this is a systemic attack on public perception stretching across multiple 'levels', from private individuals to Hollywood names. [8/20]
I would like to consider myself something of a demagogue, and I hope to maintain that momentum moving forward. And right now, and I've expressed similar sentiments recently: I feel like I'm in some movie about constructed reality. The Game, maybe Truman Show. [9/20]
Or, the most obvious connection, The Matrix. And I have paid lip service to watching my share of "woke" conservative videos on YouTube and reading what I THOUGHT were sensationalist stories about this twisting of our worldview... but to my horror, they were all too true. [10/20]
Is this the reality we live in? Is this the country I affirmed to protect? Are we still under the Constitution I even daily claim to "support and defend" when I say the Sailor's Creed at quarters every morning? What the hell has gone wrong? When did 2+2 start equaling 5? [11/20]
And that, of course, brings me to the most horrifying part of this essay: We are in the Orwellian society. We have LITERALLY, it happened IN REAL LIFE, witnessed the attempted charge of FACECRIME. futurist.com/2008/01/02/fac… [12/20]
So here we are. The world of 1984, staring us in the eye.

How?

Because authoritarianism is not a left nor right issue. It is an issue where some entity, be it the state itself or an extragovernmental power, hold the power of declaring what is right and what is wrong. [13/20]
In this case, unlike Orwell's version, we are seeing authoritarianism and dictatorship through media. I know, even typing this up I feel like a tin-hatted psycho. But it's real. I want to shout it in the streets, tell everyone I know, lib or con: IT. IS. REAL. [14/20]
We're really being programmed. Frankly, I won't even make this a partisan issue -- the fact is, the media says "jump" and expects us to ask "how high". We dehumanize each other to an extent that the propagandists making racist caricatures of "Japs" in WWII would be proud. [15/20]
We live in a moment in time, in this country, where a person's choice of headgear -- and yes, who that implies they support as a President -- is, in and of itself, analogous to being a member of the KKK. [16/20]
So no, I won't stop being involved. I won't stop speaking to everyone I know about this. I won't go away, like the media, and the unrepentant doxxers, & worst of all the people who see NOTHING to forgive in their heinous attempts to ruin the lives of children, want me to. [17/20]
God, that last set of people makes my blood boil. Not their views or ideologies, it's them thinking it's acceptable, LAUDABLE even, to wage a war of public opinion over people they disagree with -- why, speaking in person and trying to find common ground is too hard? [18/20]
That's the problem, isn't it? They believe there's NO reason for dialogue. They believe they're "right", the "other side" is "wrong", and moreover, that other side deserves, literally, only death, or at least the loss of their future. For different opinions from them. [19/20]
So I'll keep #StandWithCovington going. I'll keep this alive as much as I can. I won't, borrowing ANOTHER 1984 term, let this be memory-holed, an inconvenient truth purged from memory.
I hope I don't look back years from now, and remember this as the beginning of the end. [20/20]
