Important: despise the efforts of the media to portray it otherwise, Theresa May is NOT offering MPs a chance to take no-deal Brexit off the table.
What she is offering is much less useful: a vote on whether to leave under no-deal scenario. If that vote passes, we crash out.

If no-deal vote fails, MPs will be offered a vote to delay Brexit by extending Article 50. That's all. Doesn't take no-deal off the table, but merely postpones it by a few weeks or months. Make no mistake, no-deal will remain the default outcome even after *2* votes against it.
That's why the ERG are sounding remarkably relaxed about the prospect of a Brexit delay (though they're making token protest noises). They know:
A) No-deal remains default
B) EU are unlikely to accept a second extension
C) Closer we get to European elections, more stuck we are

So in other words, Theresa May's pretense to have given in to Remainers will make a no-deal Brexit MORE, not less, likely!
