[2] "His name is Kinan, he is 10 years old. He was released a week ago after five years serving a Syrian jihadist named Abu Saad. In the cohorts of civilians evacuated from #Baghouz region in #Syria, where the "caliphate" of ISIS lives its last days, there are many children.
[3] Children of jihadists, but also slaves of the Islamic State, like Kinan, who agreed to tell his story to our special envoys. The story of Kinan begins in 2014 when he is taken prisoner by Daesh. The jihadists have just taken, in just a few hours, the Yezidi city of #Sinjar
[4] in northwestern Iraq. With him, his father, mother, brother and sisters are taken prisoner. Kinan will never forget what he saw: "A lot of dead, people slaughtered by ISIS fighters, they hit us a lot." The boy pauses. Then he lets go: "They executed my father, for no reason."
[5] Kinan's eyes are empty. We hear children playing outside. The boy tells that they were locked in a school. Her big sister is sold. They are bought by Abu Saad who takes them to the Baghouz region of Syria in the "caliphate" of the Islamic State. This is where his mother died.
[6] He does not say how or when. But it is from this moment that "the blows are more violent", explains the young boy. "Abu Saad hit me even more, I did not know why," he said. For five years, Kinan is the slave of the family.
[7] He's the one who has to go shopping, "while the children of the jihadist are pampered," he explains. Then Kinan becomes Ahmed, he is renamed by the jihadist and does not have the right to speak Kurdish. Today, he has forgotten everything about his mother tongue.
[8] He only speaks Arabic. Kinan is adjusting his tie and suit jacket. He explains wanting to be beautiful for his first days in freedom. A suit too big and a boy too small to know the war.
[9] When the #Baghouz region is besieged by the Syrian Democratic Forces, the jihadist Abu Sa'ad decides to flee to Idlib, the last ISIS pocket after Baghouz. "That's where my uncle found me, he paid $ 30,000 to Abu Saad to get me back," he says.
[10] Five days later, he is in Iraqi Kurdistan. Freedom, finally. Kinan wants to grow. He says he wants to become a policeman "to catch the bad guys". The phone of his uncle rings. He receives a message, a video in which we see another little boy, 9 years old this time.
[11] He wears the black uniform of the Islamic State. He says he is called Abdul Haman, before he was called Walid. He explains that his father was killed by the Daesh jihadists and his mother by an air strike. He has just escaped the caliphate, he is now safe. He is free."
