1. Today, @MwatanaEn PAX @unitedforrights released a report--the most comprehensive look yet--on the role of US and European weapons in apparently unlawful #Saudi #UAE coalition attacks #Yemen.

Read the full 128-page report here: mwatana.org/en/day-of-judg…
2. The numbers:
- 27 attacks documented killed at least 203 civilians and wounded 749.
- At least *122 children* and 56 women among the casualties.
- *All 27 attacks* involved US or UK weapons.
- Specifically: 22 w/ US weapons, 2 w/ UK weapons, and 3 w/ US and UK parts.
3. A lot of ink has been spilled (incl. by me) about potential complicity of #US + #UK in unlawful #Saudi #UAE coalition attacks, risk of weapons being used unlawfully.

Why is this report so important? Clear evidence UK and US arms *already are* being used unlawfully.
4. In UK arms sales case, the lower court largely disregarded NGO reports, at least partly b/c of purported lack of access to #Yemen strike sites.

@MwatanaEn's team, based in Yemen, visited these sites (often at great risk), and painstakingly collected the evidence necessary.
5. US and UK have tried to hide behind coalition's promises to "improve" or to "investigate."

But... Coalition investigations remain fundamentally flawed.

For more, see: hrw.org/report/2018/08…
6. And... coalition attacks on civilians continue. More numbers: In *2018*, Mwatana documented 128 Coalition airstrikes that killed 418 civilians, including 181 children, and wounded 435, including 197 children.
7.*Nothing* about this is to whitewash or ignore #Houthi crimes. @MwatanaEn also documented horrific abuses by Houthi armed group in 2018, including laying landmines, shelling civilians, and arbitrarily detaining scores of people. They, too, need to be held accountable.
8. It *is* intended to highlight that responsibility (moral and legal) for some of the horrific crimes on #Saudi #UAE side may go beyond the states dropping the bombs, and extend to those knowingly supplying them weapons for potential use in war crimes. #StopArmingSaudi
9. The @MwatanaEn PAX @unitedforrights report was released today in conjunction with scheduled testimony by @RAlmutawakel to Congress on the war's impact on #Yemen-i civilians--and what the #US can do to stop it.
