We go into another week of total uncertainty, less than 3 weeks left, Tory MPs plot premierships, Lab leadership still playing games. No one knows where they stand. People’s lives on hold.

I can’t understand the normality, the lack of protest, the alright on the night mentality.

I can’t understand the absolute derogation of public duty by so many in positions of power.

Nor their willingness to let political ideology, on both extremes, wreak havoc with people’s futures, leaving Brits & EU citizens with no idea what their rights will be in 19 days. /2

I cannot understand how so much of the National narrative has been dictated by a handful of extremists, and why every single day, the reality of what lies ahead is not being asked and asked and asked of our so-called leaders. /3

I can’t understand how we pass each other on the street, as usual, heading to work or home, without outrage that these immense failures of our govt, & those intended to scrutinise that govt, have made millions of citizens of somewhere into feeling like citizens of nowhere. /5

I can’t understand why the future of the young people of this country can be cast aside so casually by reference to a spurious, authoritarian “will of the people” reference that should shame every person in political office, every newspaper editor that has used it. /6

I am furious this govt, & this PM, has got away with shutting down debate, concealing truths, outright lies, putting party interest so nakedly above national interest. And I am furious that Corbyn has not been up to or has not wanted to challenge every step of this disaster. /7

Any MP who saves their party’s skin over the national interest does not deserve to be in public office.

The evidence is there now. Brexit is a pointless disaster. MPs who enable it by crying ‘democracy’ don’t understand what democracy means.
