Bouteflika becomes the 5th Arab leader to have been desposed by popular uprisings, after Algeria announces the ailing president won’t run for a 5th term:

Interesting— veteran Algerian diplomat Lakhdar Ibrahimi, who served as the U.N. envoy for peace in Syria till May 2014, met with the Algerian president. He is expected to steer his own country into peaceful transition away from Bouteflika.
Worth emphasizing that Bouteflika isn’t running for a fifth term but he’ll remain a president till a further notice, especially since the announcement concurrently says the election will be “postponed.” So the regime is merely moving the mountain further away.
The regime is playing tricks, after this one last week?

If the clock could be turned back, Isis would do what it did in 2014. Its ideology is unlikely to transform substantially, although tactics might be tweaked a bit. Much of what it does will be defined by its attempts to assert itself as the leader of global jihad in lieu of AQ 1/
.. but we could easily identity almost exactly how it'll behave in the next years, and what its growth prospects are.

For example, I wrote years ago about how it'll evolve to what it is today, even as many (in the Coalition) thought differently.

Interesting two-page article in ISIS’s weekly al-Naba on Mohammed bin Salman’s religious policies in Saudi Arabia. The conclusion especially.. 1/2
ISIS says MBS knows that he’ll benefit from some chaos as the West will come to his help if there is any extremist move there, so it warns its followers not to fall into the trap: “don’t be the fodder of a battle not yours. The [nature of] our fight is clear.” 2/
ISIS is essentially advising its cells in Saudi Arabia not to make uncalculated moves there and instead “to learn the lessons of their brethren in Syria, Iraq and other wilayat of the Islamic State.”

Recently we started to hear names of "special groups" within ISIS in Iraq & Syria for the first time. Not all these groups were known to locals, and ISIS trained them to operate as special forces or for special functions.

A hitherto unknown example:
"Point 11" is an example, and this group has a few characteristics: it originated in Raqqa, and the name comes from an interrogation facility in central Raqqa. Its members included foreign jihadis & kept a distance from the local population & even Arab members of ISIS.
But the group doesn't seem to be focused on foreign operations, but on special military operations inside Iraq/Syria. More like the Libyan Battar Battalion that operated in Syria in the early days, before members were either sent back to Libya or integrated in other groups.

#Turkish Intel-Investigative Bodies also have the list of all Diplomatic & Private Saudi & “other significant’ Planes in #Turkey for the period of ‘interest.’ Many of the Target airports have their own security cameras & related evidence.
