I want to scream when I see other journalists say this.

without math, how do you adequately cover campaign finance, tax, elections, housing, budgets, crime, health care, immigration, insurance, gender and racial inequality? should I keep going or have I made my point?

I think it is particularly important to note that the "just try hard" thing doesn't work for as well for women, LGBTQ folks, and people of color. which is why mentorship and community are so, so, so important in this industry ESPECIALLY FOR PEOPLE FROM MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES
