I’m traveling in #Canada 🇨🇦 right now. A few observations:

First of all, if you haven’t visited #Canada, COME VISIT. The people are awesome, as is the nature, food, and general vibe.🤗

(In case you haven’t guessed, I ❤️ our northern neighbor.)

When someone asked me what I do, I mentioned my biomedical research stuff, plus my work to fight the #corruption in my country.🇺🇸💙

He responded that his country were “huge supporters. We *want* you to do well. And what’s happening is scary to ALL of us.”😳

Last night, I turned on @CBC (the major #Canadian🇨🇦news channel). They had accurate reporting about the Trump administration’s state-run #kidnapping program, describing people as being held in “cages,” repeating this for emphasis.

Also interesting that the cable network supplies @MSNBC as the ONLY American news network, so no @CNN or @FoxNews (even via my satellite TV app).😉

One person asked me today: “How can 30% of your country like Donald Trump”⁉️

I sighed and responded, “Because they’ve been brainwashed by #propaganda, coming from @FoxNews and other right-wing media.🤬

He nodded and added, “And social media!”

Most folks here just want us to “get (our) act together.”

Many folks — some of whom knew of me, some not — were amazingly supportive of our fight against Trump’s tyranny. They truly understand the importance of our work and are incredibly supportive!🇨🇦💙🇺🇸

I’ve visited Canada several times before, but this trip, I feel as though #Canada 🇨🇦 has given all of us a collective hug over these last few days.🤗

Thank you, #Canada🇨🇦. Thank you for your warm hospitality and generous souls. And most of all, thank you for your enduring friendship and support of my country.🇺🇸❤️🇨🇦
