Briefly, on the EU27 agreeing to an extension:

BUT it needs a purpose for that extra time

- a few weeks for wrapping up ratification;
- some months for a GE;

None of those are currently on the table in the UK discussion, so clear risk that UK goes to EU this week without any clear structure to whatever amount of time it asks to get approved

EU27 are much more likely to agree smoothly to extension if given a plan, or at least a choice of plans (h/t @KeohaneDan @NvOndarza), but UK might well not be in position to offer that

Thus still a risk of UK asking for time, EU27 being open to it, but unable to agree because no one knows how to structure it all.

NB - EU27 won't suggest to UK what to do, as it's UK's prerogative and any 'interference' would go down like bag of cold sick in UK debate.
