Many people are easily impressed by Jim Clemente's flaunting of his FBI past, but the that's just falling for an appeal to authority fallacy. When you look into him deeper you will find that he is usually very ignorant about the cases he "experts" about.
In the MJ case he's talked a lot of BS like how he was able to tell by just looking at Gavin in the Bashir interview that he'd been molested by MJ. He obviously was not aware of the fact that this is contradicted even by what was alleged by Gavin himself.
- ie. that the alleged molestation started AFTER the Bashir interview, not before. And this is just one example of the many. He talked a lot of nonsense that showcased his total ignorance about these cases. He often just makes up shit as he talks.
Apparently he does not only do this in the MJ case. This is from a Reddit thread from some three years ago, where people discuss another crime case. See, when you are actually knowledgeable about a case you will realize what a complete joke Clemente is. reddit.com/r/serialpodcas…
Seems like people in that thread have noticed similar things with him as we did: he actually has no idea what he is talking about when he "experts" a case.
He just loves the attention and the publicity. He doesn't like to actually work and do the research. Just loves to hear himself talk. He also loves to flaunt his credentials as if that is enough to win an argument despite of facts.
He is an arrogant, pompous a**hole who thinks his credentials make him automatically right about everything even if he is ignorant about the facts of a case.
Apparently in the 2005 case against MJ he would have been a prosecution witness testifying about "the pedophile profile". He didn't testify at the end because he got cancer. But I always found it strange.
If the prosecution wanted to call a pedophilia expert, surely Clemente wasn't the only one who the FBI had to offer. He got cancer, but thy could have called someone else then. At the end they called no one.
Maybe no one else was willing to give the same "expert" opinion as Clemente, who very obviously has a deep-seated prejudice against MJ?
I am pretty sure that he is the "FBI expert" Dan Reed talked to while making his film. Dan made sure to only reach out to people who would confirm his bias.
