Why wouldn't people prefer the economic system that has consistently led to mass starvation and genocide over the economic system that has led to unprecedented prosperity and reduced real poverty from 34.8% in 1990 to under 9% in 2018?

It's not just that these people are dangerously ignorant, but they are also ungrateful for what has been accomplished. They take the world they live in, where almost everyone has cell phones, tv's, access to cheap food etc., for granted. They have no clue how it happened.
Anyways:
I want to make one more point about this. i know a lot of immigrants who fled socialism. Many of them still vote for/consider Dems because they do not views D's as actual socialists. If D's allow AOC and Bernie to become the leaders of their party, that will change very quickly.
