Schumer may actually have some sense left. He actually wants this investigated, which it should be. Part of China’s plan is to take over US railways.

China could surveil everyone that took those trains.

Everyone is watching the mini-trade war between the US and China, but few have been mentioning two important issues about this.
The First, is the fact that the US and China were 95% of the way to agreement, until the week before the deadline. 1
Suddenly, the Chinese reneged on all their promises made in the previous negotiations. Why they did so is a matter of speculation. I can guess, but I may be wrong. 2)
My guess is that they do not understand what is happening in US politics, that they believe the media’s take on Trump and his prospects and they wrongly assume that Trump will be gone soon and they will be able to get a better deal from the Democrats. 3)

Over the past 20 years, China has made tremendous progress in improving its military capabilities, but its modernization program will remain a work in progress in the decade to come.
China trails the US in terms of nuclear attack submarines, aerial refueling & amphibious capacity. Beijing will continue to develop its capabilities on these fronts, but based on current projections, it will not reach parity with the US by 2030.

… I‘ve separately ID’d resellers of encrypted communications equipment from #China who are operating in #Mexico. I believe these resellers are likely selling these devices to the cartels. (That’s all I’ll say.) It makes sense since the “product” — #fentanyl — is #MadeInChina…
… so would it surprise anybody if #China was arming #Mexico’s cartels? That assumption should probably be baked-in to our analyses. And let’s not forget that time the very Chinese (but #London-based) #HongKong #Shanghai Banking Corp. — #HSBC — laundered billion$ for the cartels.
