Tennessee could’ve had 100% of the cost of Medicaid paid for by the federal government for 200,000 people for three years, and at least 90% of the cost covered after that. Instead they decided to screw those people and themselves.
Tennessee actually tried expanding it several times, even adding a $20/month premium...but the state GOP legislature has still refused every time.
