Pretty furioius to see @Sephora re-cut their "We belong to something beautiful" ad to excise @aaronphilipxo, a black trans #disabled model who was in the original ad in the opening sequence.
Just saw the recut @maddow on @MSNBC.

The number of #disabled models can be counted on one hand. @aaronphilipxo is representing for millions of disabled people. I want to see that. If there needed to be a shorter version of the ad, don't elide the one disabled person.

In the past hour we've hear from @RepJudyChu on @OutFrontCNN and @RepRashida on @allinwithchris talking about the @DHSgov IG report and their own experience at the facilities at our border. The numbers Tlaib has cited are stunning.
Tlaib says processing asylum claims and closing the detention centers is essential. She also speaks to the private profit influence on the larger centers.
It's the separation policy that is fueling this overflow of people in a CBP facility meant to be held in no longer than days.
.@aurabogado, who has been covering these issue for YEARS, highlights the actual details. She says people like her from immigrant communities need to be heard. She also says this happened in the Obama Admin as well--and only now people are paying attention.

There are two facts which are staggeringly apparent in the online UK #trans landscape at the moment:

1. The mainstream media is still in a transphobic backlash, and it's been getting nastier and more dangerous every month.
2. In our online communities - twitter and facebook in particular - we are spending WAY more time and attention responding to and magnifying these instances of backash than we are in promoting not only our successes, but even mildly positive or neutral works.

I just had an epiphany: #beautiful has become my new favorite word. That may seem strange given my circumstances. In June 2017 I was diagnosed with incurable stage IV #lungcancer.
I naively thought that maybe my lifetime of being a health and fitness junkie would insulate me from such a medical fate. Wrong. And So here I am, fifty-one years old and not sure how much time I have left on earth. I know I could, or maybe should, feel angry, cheated, jaded.
