It significantly increases the utility of the twitter graph. Which makes *even* more important curating who you follow

Makes me appreciate how much we have undertapped the value of each user's twitter graph so far
This is adds so much interesting context for example!
How can you not love an extension that has @onecaseman in its demo photos!

The arms race for gerrymandering begins now

Gerrymandering increases the misalignment between the will of the people and how it is expressed in our government, which long term will always be the most corrosive thing to democracy
A judiciary that absolves itself of adjudicating the incumbent metagame of gerrymandering leaves the only options to be decay or riding a new wave to overwhelm incumbents AND hope once they win the new generation will make sacrifice of tying their own ability to gerrymander
This will go down as the most pyrrhic victory. Destroying the feedback loop between constituencies and their representation creates significant potential energy and long term strife

My roommate, @kane, recently had a tweetstorm about his father go viral. It's at 143k likes right now and still growing

Which is good excuse to look at some charts and thoughts around virality. So had him give me look at his twtr analytics dashboard

Here's impressions over last 28 days for him. ~40M impressions in a few days

On average, his account previously averaged 200k impressions a month--so that's 200x his typical distribution

Also notice how much this borks the usefulness of his metrics for anything else
Retweets and Likes follow similar pattern

Also interesting is that this one was spread primarily by twitter editorial team putting it in moments. This is more akin to TikTok's distribution pattern--and with it being platform/content driven vs creator driven

Twitter seems to be banning or suspending accounts belonging to critics of the Chinese government. It started yesterday May 31th. Here is one report - I noticed a sudden loss of followers yesterday, I checked, it was mainly China critics. Twitter❤️🇨🇳 Amazing! @mouse @1GigiSims
This is happening as an effort to silence #China critics ahead of the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, which is next Tuesday. Twitter is helping China do its dirty work to silence the legitimate opposition. Twitter has hit a new all time low! 👎👎👎
One other possibility that can't be discounted is that the #Chinese government is hacking into Twitter and is deleting the accounts of Chinese critics. I did hear reports in the past, that Chinese hackers were able to get into Twitter & do that.

Firstly, this is Twitter, so some things won't work as well as when it is face to face. This little thread will be to cover the very basics of photography in a simple and (hopefully) easy way to understand
It's not going to cover particular techniques and it will be as simple as possible for people to understand, in simple terms. Once people understand the very basics they can then learn more and get familiar with "proper" terms etc

On #Twitter the #GiletJaunes hashtag is more of an #American far right #disinformation campaign. Some of these accounts could be #Russian? I don't know.

You can clearly see that the hashtags are dominated by Pro-#Trump and #QAnon accounts.
I have made the #disinformation accounts red and abnormally large.
