National Party marketing seems to be a clone of US Political Parties

It produces an endless array of made up, or misrepresented Fake News which is relentlessly pushed by its pet media; along w unjustified malicious, under the belt personal attacks intended to demean individuals
I for one would like all political parties to end “Attack Politics”. The Coalition under Ardern is a breath of fresh air.

What the media should be regularly comparing is political rhetoric versus what the politician or party which is attacking their opposition has actually done
Politicians of all stripes are prepared to metaphorically offer the moon with jam on it - if they think it will get them the vote; even if said politicians have been steadily destroying the moon for years.
IMO a major role of media should be to spotlight hypocrisy.
However that’s hard to do when the media elite are politically aligned and allow (and appear to encourage) attack politics by their talking heads.
Pie in the Sky promises (eg those without given sources of funding for a proposed policy & its implementation) & promises made that are pretty much the opposite of what a politician or political party has historically done - should be challenged and highlighted by the media

@rnz
Politicians who are slick talking bullsh*t artists who generate Fake News claims & speculation; or waffle & white wash facts -are the most dangerous to the public of all

Media interviewers need to start identifying & questioning misleading comments & claims in a nonpartisan way
