If you have never had a comprehensive exam with a full set of xrays done, you are one of those 3.5B people. That’s basically 3 Indian populations put together.

2) Dental Caries does not always hurt.

That’s when you should aim for it to be detected and treated. Typically it will means a filling. Occasionally a crown. Rarely a root canal or extraction.

3) It can be prevented.

Use an electric tooth brush, a fluoridated tooth paste and floss regularly. Reduce consumption of sugar in any form as much as possible. Sodas and juices are the worst, combining acids and sugars
