1. My takeaways from Amb. Jeffrey's comments related to Syria:

-US Draw-down now confirmed to include an indefinite
period for residual US force in NES.

-Confirms my analysis that ISIS is in Idlib.

- Calls SDF partners.

-SDF holds 10,000 ISIS fighter detainees.
2. cont.

-ISIS detainees include 8,000 Iraqi & Syrian fighters.

-Iraqi ISIS fighters to be moved to Iraq.

- Syrian ISIS fighters to be tried in Syria.

-Al Howl camp has 60,000 IDP ISIS family members.

-I read him saying SDF is not getting much help though
not clear.
3. cont.

-2,000 non-Iraqi non-Syrian ISIS Fighters in custody.

-Need to return foreign ISIS to home countries.

-No mention of Turkey. Not a word.

He exited without taking questions. IMO think there's a good chance that we're done talking to Turkey.
4. Why? Because Turks are allied with ISIS in Idlib and, as I have reported over four years, were allied with ISIS in Syria.
