If the question is whether the UK Remains or Leaves the EU, the question's substance is the UK-EU relationship.
Remain was fixed by UK/International law.
Unless the Leave relationship was decided in 2016, it was literally IMPOSSIBLE for Leavers to know what they were voting for.

I know... I know... I avoid using that phrase usually. But the logic above and below is irrefutable.
I'd be more of a "patronising Remainer" for thinking Leavers are too delicate/irrational to handle this simple reality:
