I still can't get over this thread from yesterday on Omar/Tlaib planned trip to Israel and the complete lack of media interest.

It's amazing the amount of bigotry that gets excused and ignored as long as you have the right letter by your name.
I'm fine with how things worked out, but incredible that the people giving moral lectures have 0 interest in the fact that members of Congress were planning a trip sponsored by those who promote blood libels, neo-Nazi screeds, and terrorism.
If Steve King had planned a trip sponsored by a neo-Nazi group and planned to meet with white nationalists who advocate for violence, it would get plenty of coverage and every Republican would have to comment on it.

This is getting zero.

Bill Maher came out against using support for an antisemitic movement as a purity test. Again, he didn’t even demand no Dem support it, but just not require it. Major online lefties are still going nuts on him and accusing him of being a bigot for it. Insane and revealing.
Tlaib suggested a boycott against Maher for that position because she’s obviously very concerned about protecting unpopular speech.

Apparently support for Anti-Semitic movement = free speech, but disagreeing w antisemitic movement = unacceptable speech that deserves a boycott.
Remember that the next time they tell you that their advocacy for BDS is about protecting speech.

As @SethAMandel likes to say, the anti-Semitism is the point.

I am absolutely shocked that antisemites posted more antisemitic content given extent to which their previous antisemitism has been ignored or whitewashed.

It will only get worse until the press holds them accountable and forces senior leaders in their Party to speak up.
Even the NYT had to take a bunch of crap for posting exactly this type of cartoon to the point where they declared they would stop printing political cartoons. Ask yourself why 2 Reps publishing something similar is almost guaranteed to get ignored and excused?
Media completely ignored that they planned their trip with a group that promotes neo-Nazis, blood libels, and terrorists so why would they hesitate to share a cartoon rom a well-known antisemitic cartoonist implying Jews are trying to silence them?

You will be shocked to learn that this is a complete and obvious lie from Aaron. Think Progress people might get bigger platforms, but they never change.
Every single tweet in that thread has obvious lies and distortions in it, but he gets thousands of retweets for those lies. Presidential candidates then amplify the lies. It’s a terrible cycle which Vox enables.
Yep. He does it on an almost daily basis. But he’s very good at pulling newsworthy video clips and sharing them online even if he consistently distorts what is in them. Someone in the media who did the same thing w/o the lies would gain a lot of support.

I wasn't inclined to tweet about #Kashmir, but after seeing the amount of disinformation, I am going to.

I'm back in the newsroom today after a week in Srinagar.

Things are NOT normal.

People are seething. Kashmir is likely a tinderbox waiting for a spark.
When I got there on Monday, just hours after Article 370 was abrogated, the city was locked down.

I walked a km to find the nicest auto-wallah in the land.

He didn't have a clue of what had happened, why his city had overnight turned into ghost town -- blanketed with security.
Later that evening, we spoke to @shahfaesal in his living room.

Since satellite TVs were still working, news had trickled in.

“We might see an eruption when the guard is down."

“People are taking it as an act of humiliation.”

Then, the pelting began.
