Jean-Claude Juncker now back at work following recent operation, has a phone call scheduled with Boris Johnson later this afternoon, announces European commission.
Boris Johnson is also due to speak to Mark Rutte this evening, per diplomatic sources.
The Juncker-Johnson call will be "an opportunity to touch base" after G7, says European commission spokes. "We stand ready to engage constructively with the UK on any concrete proposals that are compatible with the withdrawal agreement."
European commission also confirms that Boris Johnson's Europe envoy David Frost will hold meetings in Brussels "at a technical level" with officials in Michel Barnier's taskforce.
