EDITORIAL: "Chances of #LoudHouse creator returning to @Nickelodeon not enhanced at all by interview with End Times conspiracy theorist"
I'm sure all of us remember the story of Chris Savino, who, midway through the production of the third season of his enormously popular @Nickelodeon cartoon—#TheLoudHouse—was fired from that network on the basis that he sexually harassed a series of women over the years.
I'm sure all of us remember the story of how many of those who felt the series was just fine without him—@Animated_Antic, @WyomingParmesan and @FurbySquawk, just to name a few—were repeatedly harassed by people demanding he return to @NickAnimation.
Those people have finally found someone who speaks their language . . . in . . . I kid you not . . . an End Times conspiracy theorist. That's right. A guy named Josh Peck—not the @Nickelodeon star, mind you—interviewed Mr. Savino for a website called dailyrenegade.com.
I have only heard of this from @JeremyFuscaldo—who created the comic book series #AmeliaEmnity—but if his post on this was anything to go by . . . Chris Savino really hasn't found any real redemption other than in the eyes of the aforementioned Savino-defending sector.
If a man like Chris Savino is truly sorry for his repetitive sexual harassment toward women—his pattern of that goes back to the days when he was at @CartoonNetwork—appearing on shows that sound like they'd be extracted by the likes of @RightWingWatch isn't the way to show this.
If anything, doing this makes a person who committed sexual harassment to that exact level appear to be even more of a bad guy than he or she already was, because now the name of whoever it is will be associated with a guy whose basic purpose in life and in broadcasting . . .
. . . is to fill up @Wikipedia's long article on the "list of dates predicted for apocalyptic effects." Mr. Savino's appearance on @JPDisclosure's show has the same effect that would be achieved if the likes of @BillCosby or @HarveyWeinstein appeared on an Anita Bryant show.
Let's take it one step further: the same effect would be achieved if @RKelly appeared on the @700Club—and I found out that @Twitter had already suspended the R&B singer's account as I wrote this.
The thing we need to get out of Chris Savino's interview with the other Josh Peck is that it disproves the most notable claim made by the people demanding that the #LoudHouse creator's return to @Nickelodeon—the claim that he has repented the actions that caused him to get fired.
