Rather than inform us of the specifics in #Kamala's #3AMAgenda Molly decides to regurgitate the FALSE narrative that Kamala's agenda is vague/ noncommittal. That is lazy/uninformative. Her plans are specific AND rooted in YEARS of legislative groundwork.
As I mentioned earlier, writers tend to approach #Kamala with cynicism & perpetuate that notion. I've asked before "who is they" now let me ask "who are people"? This insinuates that #KamalaHarris is shifty rather than warm & authentic as we've seen repeatedly.
Let's also address the fact while #KamalaHarris and Warren have near identical voting records, Warren was still a Republican in the 90s. Meanwhile #Kamala was a Democratic prosecutor advocating to decriminalize child sex trafficking victims.
As far as allegations of #Kamala being a flip flopper that is categorically false. It's interesting (biased) though how Warren and Biden are granted the grace to "evolve", yet #KamalaHarris isn't. Let me tackle this 1 by 1 but she is strikingly consistent.
Let's talk Health Care, #KamalaHarris didn't flip flop- she STILL supports Medicare4All. She IMPROVED on Bernie's plan according to Health Care experts. That would be more illuminating to the reader than regurgitating Bernie's talking points.
To suggest #Kamala has flipped on immigration is patently absurd! Kamala's Immigration record is stellar and she has the backing of Dolores Huerta. She has been a champion for Immigrants rights as AG and Senator and her Immigration Plan has been hailed.
#Kamala's Q3 $11.6M as was called "respectable" & "far short" of other frontrunners it's notable that she has maintained her prowess while it's been reported that Biden's Q3 # dropped by $6M. Kamala has raised a record breaking sum for a Black woman.
The author perpetuates the false narrative that #Kamala "backed down". The fact is #KamalaHarris was AG of the largest state DOJ & as the HBIC had her OWN priorities. Critiques on cherry-picked events shouldn't get equal or more attn than her 6yr tenure.
Also, let's be clear...#KamalaHarris has always been a fighter and a champion. You can see for yourself via this thread of press conferences over #Kamala's tenure if she looks like someone who backs down (spoiler alert: she gets shit done!)
The author perpetuates another false narrative to discredit #Kamala's prosecutorial record. Krasner took office 2018, 14 yrs AFTER Kamala. She championed cash bail reform in 2017 that LK is hailed for. In 04, Kamala was described as progressive-receipts ⬇️
Why is it that Sanders supporting Lara Bazelon gets to dictate the FALSE narratives about #Kamala's record? She was a total NON-FACTOR in SF politics while Kamala was DA being a public defender in LA til 08, an Instructor (Legal Writing/Moot court) 09-10, then CIVIL fellow 10-12.
It is journalistic malpractice/malevolence for article after article to present the opinion of a Sanders's supporter as if she is a disinterested party. But since she brought up a laundry list,here are 50 things #Kamala has done for #CriminalJusticeReform
The media, which makes little effort to inform voters on what #KamalaHarris proposes, perpetuates the narrative that she is elusive. This despite the fact that she has put forth detailed proposals (many backed by her Senate bills) on every major topic.
In closing, @mollyesque you failed miserably to honor the historic weight of this moment with a sneering rather than a meaningful profile. We deserve better. #Kamala is our #ShirleyChisholm (hopefully winning) but your contempt is familiar and unwarranted.
