1) House Democrats are 100% winning the impeachment battle, as evidenced by rising impeachment polls – which are THE factor that will decide whether Trump is ousted. House GOP goons are trying to goad Pelosi into arresting them, so Americans will view it as impeachment overreach.

2) It might make us feel good to see these House GOP scumbags hauled out of the SCIF in handcuffs. But then what? The average American sees that and wonders if House Democrats are taking things too far. Then maybe impeachment polls shift in Trump’s direction.

3) Some folks in the Resistance will accuse House Democrats of being “weak” for not having the House GOP arrested. But the only thing that matters is how this plays out in the eyes of the average American. Pelosi understands how to win. The most angry Resistance members don’t.

4) My replies are about to get flooded with rabid nonsense from mouth-foamers pushing any asinine rationale they can think of for why Pelosi is missing an opportunity by not arresting the GOP. Whatever. The mouth foamers harm their own side. They want blood, not victory.

5) As it stands, the media coverage of this juvenile GOP stunt will only serve to make Trump’s side look even more guilty. That’ll drive impeachment poll numbers even higher – which again, is the ONLY factor that’ll determine whether Trump is ousted.

6) But if today’s media coverage ends up being about “House Democrat overreach” then Trump wins the day.

Pelosi will take appropriate measures to censure these House Republicans. Key word “appropriate.” She has to LOOK reasonable in order to win this and take Trump down

7) We may not LIKE that this is how things work, but it IS how things work. No amount of tweet-rationalizing will change that.

The question is whether you want to get to feel self righteously indignant, or if you want to win. In politics, very rarely do you get to do both 🙂
