'Crackpot' Corbyn's 'broadband communism' - dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7… ... oh Boris. Take a look at that bastion of Gov intervention aka 'Crackpot Communism', the Gov of South Korea and what they managed to achieve - before opening mouth and putting foot in it.
X : What do you expect in the Conservative manifesto?
Me : Empty promises.
X : Reality?
Me : Cuts to social housing, privatisation of the NHS, an eventual ending of the legal right to paid holiday (and erosion of other workers' rights) ... all dressed up as "freedom of choice".
... put it like this, my boy is 10 and I'm not assuming Labour will win. He attends state school and I'm planning to have saved well in excess of £60k for his university education by the time he reaches 18. I'm not convinced that's enough. I expect society to be very polarised.
I am working on the basis that if the Conservatives win, then by the time my lad reaches 18, the NHS will have mostly been privatised, education will cost an even larger fortune, class division will be extreme, social inequality will start to be embedded in transportation etc.
I look at this election as a once in a generation opportunity to rebalance society for the benefit of everyone. If we fail to take it then ... well, at least we know.
X : Thoughts on immigration?
Me : A benefit to society. The problem is, we don't invest in underlying services required and it's an "easy" excuse to hide the impacts of austerity. Daft thing is that some believe if we cut immigration then access to services will improve. Whoops.
X : If that happens people won't vote for that party again.
Me : You mean people won't vote, full stop. That's the purpose, to disenfranchise those most vulnerable to exploitation until they think there is no point in voting at which point they become easier targets to exploit.
The creation of a dispirited underclass is a powerful tool for controlling a larger population particularly when combined with another "group" to blame for "limited" resources. It has been used throughout history to hide the true picture of how wealth is being divided.
Look at the environmental catastrophe that is unfolding and how people feel both hopeless to change it but at the same time responsible. That feeling of "we can't do anything" combined with guilt is not accidental but manufactured to avoid focusing on the real causes ...
... if you want to change the course of the planet, you need to capture the political machinery and realise the many have more power than the few. The economic system is just a tool not a purpose of society. It is not society.
X : If that's true, why did you say we should apologise to our kids?
Me : Because I want you to do so. You have a responsibility to create a better future. If you can't then you should apologise. If that gets you angry, then take that wasteful energy, control it and get involved.
X : You don't believe in becoming angry over climate change?
Me : Nope. No more than I believe in letting yourself get sucked into outrage. If you do, then you become easy to control. Instead focus on control of the political machinery. That's what you need to change.
X : How do you capture the political machinery?
Me : You vote. It's the single most important thing to do. With enough willingness the many can change the entire system.
