Ugh. While this is encouraging, it's still just one piece against a national media that openly mocks the idea.

In general, Republicans don't have a "minority" voter problem. They have an urban/metro minority voter problem.

There's a BIG difference.
But click on the link in that Vox article highlighted by "given Trump’s well-documented history of racism" and it's a joke.

Being pro-death penalty after a rape-murder is not evidence of racism. You stupid tool.

That entire timeline of "evidence" is ridiculous. So stupid.

How is Louisiana so red on the presidential level and elects Democrats on the gubernatorial level?

Simple version...
@Gingrich_of_PA Ed Rispone put on a good show. But John Bel Edwards is a popular incumbent and rather conservative. It clearly helped him in Southern Catholic region and even to some extent the Northern Protestant area. On the presidential level, Democrats are nowhere near that conservative.
@Gingrich_of_PA That said, the early vote for John Bel Edwards was not at all impressive. But he did two things.

1. He hit targets where it counted (Orleans, East Baton, etc)
2. He did better than expected in the Election Day vote, which is not something the president should take lightly.

1. Well, this doesn't happen very often. But I pretty much agree with this #LAGov analysis on CNN.

Republicans have a built-in advantage and actually did far better with Indies down ballot than other races. But at the top, they didn't do as well.

2. Republicans tend to drop off in runoff elections in LA, albeit by a few points. But when you have a popular incumbent like Bel Edwards, it's not a few points you can afford.

Personally, I thought Abraham was the stronger GOP candidates vs. Bel Edwards.

It'll be close...
3. It'll be close but 1) D gubernatorial candidates perform strongly statewide in LA, historically a long track of just that. But 2) if Rispone does pull it out, it'll be because of that last rally.

I know, as do most mediates who cover this, Elise Stefanik took these allegations seriously and considered the evidence. I even criticized her if you remember, joking she did B/C of her district.

In any other time period, historically, her opposition would've ended this charade.
But in this time period, fact patterns don't matter and the implications of precedent in a common law system are secondary concerns to power.

In this period, people need to be told that "impeachment" does not equal removal from office.
What it does equal is a horrible precedent that permanently damages the Office of the Presidency and our very social contract.

Opinions of the moderate, measured voices like @EliseStefanik are marginalized to support a partisan, illogical narrative.

That's sad for our children.

He eats it straight from his hand and watches Connor beam at him like he'd just hung the sun. Kisses his fingertips. Connor reaches to scratch him behind his ear with a pleased little smile, then feeds him another blackberry.

They're sweet and tart, and the honey is rich.
Connor refuses to eat any more until Hank swears up and down that he's full. Then he folds himself into his side, takes a honeycomb out of the pot, and bites right into it like it's a loaf of bread. Honey oozes out, drips down his chin.

Hank coughs to cover up a startled laugh.
"Hungry," he explains, flushing when it becomes apparent that Hank is amused by the sight.

Hank rubs a hand through his curls. "Well don't stop on my account. It's good to see you eat."

Connor looks at him shyly. "I like honey."

Hank smiles. "Is that why you taste like it?"
