1) The USA - where all hope goes to die.

Immigrants don't come here because they want: they usually come because there is no option in their home land. Violence, famine , health issues, unemployability or other hardship push us away.
2) I am a privileged immigrant: I have what was previously known as the "Einstein visa" (the EB-1A exceptional ability and higher education permanent visa), now updated to the "Sex worker visa" after Melania was granted hers.
3) I don't know, I'm just a scholar and elite athlete, pretty old and small, who knows how they scored me: I don't make good prostitution material.
4) But here I am, helplessly and passively observing all my hope leaking through the holes and cracks that events and agents in this country broke into me. Most of these cracks are irreversible.
5) My health issues unfortunately became irreversible and unmanageable after an attack from behind from a local redneck here in OKC inside a strength gym. A woman who had lost all her children for neglect and abuse and was a compulsive liar and dangerous person.
6) My assets were stolen by American hackers as soon as I set foot in this country. I'm not sure you know, but the USA are the champion on cyber theft and fraud. Because my Brazilian account was set for automatic payment of my credit card charges, I did lose EVERYTHING
7) with that attack. After that, a great attorney offered to assist me with the permanent residency petition since I had nowhere to return to.
8) The USA I used to know, the university towns, is a mirage. It's a fiction that we, visiting scholars, enjoy for two years. "Real America" is where we end up as permanent residents.
9) I can't go back to Brazil because I'd die during 10 months out of 12 due to the humid heat. But these are some of the shocking things an immigrant like me never dreamed to be possible and are actually features of the American society:
10) THE ABSENCE OF A NATIONAL PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM - you even have to invent a name for that: "medicare for all". It's just the National Public Health System our countries have. I had an expensive complementary private insurance because as an athlete, I could have
11) emergencies that would not be national emergencies. But complete absence of a NPHS? To the point that citizens don't even know what it is? Foreigners get confused with such an aberration.
12) Predatory financial corporations and Corporate aggressive attack on customers' rights. I recently invested time to acquire the knowledge to defend myself. Americans suffer more fraud, theft and forcible conditions by corporations than anybody else.
13) They are so unregulated that consumers are helpless to protect themselves to what can be life-destroying attacks from companies.
14) And because companies outlawyer anyone, the country has become dominated by civil litigation, to which most customers have no means to resort to. They just assimilate abuse after abuse because they can't afford the cost of legally defending themselves.
15) The normalization of hyper-conservatism, authoritarianism and extremism. Americans consider it fine to have para-military organizations (militias) legally existing, killing immigrants and raising hell.
16) Para-military organizations exist elsewhere too, like in my country, where they elected a fascist president. But it's very much illegal. Here? Not at all.
17) Immigrants come here because they are forced out of their countries and sometimes, the USA is the only option (especially for us in the continent). Once here, we get stuck.
18) None of us came here to steal American jobs. Most of us have rare skills or are tough enough to handle jobs Americans don't apply to anymore.
19) Once here, we must learn to navigate the several hostile forces that shape American society starting from banks and other financial agencies, a discriminatory job market, racist environments that hate us by default and most of us make no friends.
20) Folks like us have built this America that Americans nostalgically idealize. The hands that built America. Then we are part of the slow or fast elimination strategies.
21) Most of us don't like it here. We offer our best years and our contributions to an ungrateful society that offers us predatory organizations and discrimination.
22) It infuriates me to hear uneducated and stupid trump supporters referring to us as leeches. They are the leeches that elected governments that destroyed our countries.
23) The @SuicideHotline_ s don't work anymore. They are clogged.
I am tired of analyzing charts that lead to the obvious conclusion that the American experiment is very close to doomed.
24) And by self-destroying, it sucks all of our countries like a disgusting black hole. I am tired of being an observer to this pathetic end. I am so tired that I wish it went faster. Much faster.
