Study from Loughborough University on the media coverage of this election shows what many suspected. An enormous anti-Labour, pro-Tory media trying to swing the election.

@nytimes The Times immediately backed the coup in #Bolivia, refusing to use that word, insisting that the "increasingly autocratic" Morales "resigned" after a "highly fishy vote". Forcing him out, it explained was "the only remaining option"
@nytimes This goes back decades. In 1953 the Times supported the overthrow of Mossadegh in Iran, expressing a "deep sense of relief" that the President who had "gone berserk with radical nationalism" (i.e. nationalized the oil industry) was gone.

(Thread) So a lot of you might not have heard that there was ANOTHER US-backed COUP attempt today in Venezuela featuring Juan Guaidó.

Problem was it fell completely flat on its face.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the US military official called on the Venezuelan armed forces to overthrow Maduro.
Juan Guaidó appeared in this extremely poorly made video telling Venezuelans to come out on the streets today to overthrow Maduro

(Thread) The media coverage of the #Bolivia coup has been atrocious. I decided to make a list of the worst of the worst.
Using the "stop hitting yourself" tactic, @washingtonpost absurdly claims Evo Morales is to blame for his own overthrow.
@washingtonpost . @FoxNews lies to its readers, claiming Morales "resigned" due to "election fraud allegations" and not the American-trained military pointing a gun at his head.

1) UK media was heavily biased towards Tories and against Labour during the election campaign.

Heavy propaganda campaign worked and enabled the result the press barons desired.

This is delivering a government for the oligarchs running UK.
