Was in line at the pharmacy, and the woman in front was told her medication would cost $423—WITH INSURANCE. When I had a chance I told her that 1 in 4 Americans can't afford their prescriptions. "It's crazy!" she said. "How can it be like this?!"

I told her about how, when trying to pass the ACA, Democrats made a deal with the pharmaceutical industry. The ACA would leave Pharma largely unscathed (i.e., unregulated), and Pharma would (a) not oppose the ACA and even (2) help promote it.

Big Pharma then spent a tawdry (to them) $150 million to promote the ACA to the American people. In return, they have been fleecing the American people for billions ever since.

The ACA is the Democrats' bill.
This was a deal that establishment, corporate Democrats made.

She then explained to me that she and her family have "good insurance."
"It can't be that 'good' if your medication still costs $423," I said.
"Yeah, no kidding," she said.
"I'm a big Bernie supporter," I said. "I want #MedicareForAll."
"I would love Bernie to win," she said.

We then talked about Bernie's chances of winning. I told her how he's steadily climbing in the polls and is in a great position to win most—if not all—the early states.
"Oh, he definitely has my vote," she said. "I just want a president who cares about people like us."
"Me too."

She said there are a lot of Millennials in her family, and they all want Bernie to win.
"We just gotta get some of our older relatives to vote for him," she said. "There's this mental block. They just don't see that Bernie will help us all."
"I know," I said. "We'll get there."

Everyone I talk to just wants a president—and a government—who cares about us, the people. What that looks like specifically is a little different for each individual, but it comes down to:
We're struggling.
It shouldn't be this hard.
See us.
DO SOMETHING.
