BREAKING NEWS (MSNBC): Iran Has Just Launched a Second Wave of Missile Attacks
PS/ MSNBC correspondent in Iran: "This is undoubtedly the most serious moment between the United States and Iran in the last 40 years." Iran has stated that if the U.S. retaliates for any of its missile attacks the number of attacks will increase substantially... and immediately.
PS2/ MSNBC correspondent in Iran says he is expecting a military retaliation from Washington "imminently."

Folks, we can hear what the GOP is saying, or pretend to be surprised later. There will be no witnesses.
@RealClearNews THUS: There's zero—and I repeat *zero*—reason to rush the articles to the Senate. All that's doing is rushing toward a pointless sham trial. On the other hand, the benefits and tactical/strategic reasons to hold the articles to keep investigating and litigating are—well—*legion*.
@RealClearNews BENEFITS:

1⃣ More time to investigate.
2⃣ More time to litigate.
3⃣ More time for media to investigate/report.
4⃣ New evidence can emerge.
5⃣ New witnesses can emerge.
6⃣ New evidence aids argument for witnesses.

NOTE: Every American needs to remember that just three weeks ago, Mitch McConnell said he was "fine" with not getting the articles, and *less than a week ago* he said he "couldn't start a trial" without the articles. This is about Donald Trump being frantic and terrified, period.
FURTHER: Articles of impeachment can't be dismissed before they're transmitted. Mind you, for as long as the GOP is in power McConnell certainly *can* keep the Senate from having a trial on the articles by a vote like this. But if the Democrats take the Senate, a trial can occur.
THUS: As a matter of law, journalists should be covering this rule change as a vote to never consider the most serious allegations ever made against a U.S. president unless or until the party he doesn't belong to controls the Senate. But this is *not* a dismissal of the articles.
